Create a View
You can create custom Views. In most cases, you will create a View as a grid and then create and customize a chart. Once the View is created, you can easily switch between the grid and chart View Types. To create a View, you must also specify the type of data you want to display using a query.
When you create a View, you save it to a folder in the Views Explorer. The folder named My Views is your private folder. The other folders that are displayed depend on your role.
The My Views section ensures that System Administrators access only the Views they have created. For System Administrators, Views created by other staff members are listed separately under a new section called All - My Views.
-
All - My Views section displays My Views created by other users apart from the logged-in System Administrator.
-
System Administrators' My Views section does not display Views from other System Administrators.
-
The All - My Views section is read-only, preventing administrators from modifying Views. However, they retain the ability to delete Views if needed.
-
The Views in All - My Views are organized alphabetically.
All folders in the Views Explorer are public except for My Views. If you create a View in My Views or move a View to the My Views folder, it will no longer be public and only you can access it.
Prerequisites
While you do not have to be authorized to use the Views tile or Views pages, you must have Views - Module Data authorization for the type of data in the View.
For example, to access Views that contain Admissions data, you must have Views - Admissions Data authorization.
You should be familiar with the Background for Views.
